Weekend Recap “The Not-so-Drive Through Adventure”

Hi everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was, for the first time in a long time, pretty active. Last week I saw an advertisement for one of the local farms in our area for a drive through baby animal review complete with kettle corn, lemonade, and strawberry slushees. You know I couldn’t say no to that, so I purchased tickets for the kids and I and come Saturday morning, loaded up the car.

Spring Break Staycation

Our kids start Spring Break next week and are super excited to be home and resting for a while. Originally, there was discussion in the house of letting the older children visit my mother in New Jersey for a fun and activity-filled adventure there. Then, COVID-19 (aka Coronavirus) started making the headlines. At first it was a trickle here, a person there. Then, this week, two persons tested positive within a twenty-mile radius of us and outside the elder and immune-suppressed at-risk groups typically reported. The schools here have started ramping up plans for distance learning, but so far, the plan is to return after break is over. Add to that the close proximity of a rather populated outbreak just one state over and we decided better safe than sorry. So, our children will be enjoying a Spring Break staycation. But here’s the question. Just what do you do with a 13 and 6-year-old who are home from school all week long?

Weekend Recap: Celebrations and Memories

It’s Monday! Happy Monday everyone. I hope your weekend was really fun and really wonderful. This weekend was filled with love and celebrations and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Weekend Recap: Memories Top 5

Hello! What a fun and awesome weekend spent with people whom I absolutely love. It’s funny how unexpected changes can still be great opportunities for fun. Bug, J., and I were supposed to visit my alma mater to attend the #AggieEagle classic in Greensboro, NC. The rivalry between North Carolina Central University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is legendary. I was looking forward to taking Bug and having a Mommy-Son weekend with him. Unfortunately a few days before the game, the weather was forecast to be all day rain. This would not be a good thing with a 3 month old baby in tow. So, I made the decision to cancel our plans for the game. It worked out though! We were still able to have an awesome time with family.

Games and Thrones: Weekend Recap

This weekend was such an enjoyable time.  I was able to attend both soccer games for the kids because they were both on the same side of the county!  Yay!  The kids got to see a great show. My mother came down for a brief visit and S. and I were able to attend a costume party.  Let's get you to the update.
