Jeremiah Turns One!

Hi everyone!  Our baby J. turned 1 year old on Tuesday.  We didn't do a huge birthday party since COVID is still very, very real, but we did have a nice quiet family celebration and he was more than happy with it.

He still has those amazing bright eyes.

With COVID still spiking and quarantine still the word of the day, we did a very small and intimate dinner at home.  Nothing fancy, no major themes.  Just us--S., Bug, Honeybee, A, J and I.  We ate pizza and then pulled out a simple birthday cake while singing happy birthday.  You know, in hindsight, it was perfect.

Birthday Recap: 40 is Fabulous

Hi everyone!

I am still smiling and am so humbled by the outpouring of love and support I received on my birthday yesterday.  Truthfully, with COVID still running rampant, I was fine with take out dinner and a movie on Netflix.  I wasn't expecting anything big and I was perfectly fine with it.  The day had already started so beautifully.

Happy Birthday, Bug!!

Time waits for no man.  Truer words were never spoken.  Today, my first born turns 12 years old.  I'm so proud of him and the young man that he has become.  He is kind, respectful, sweet, and sincere.  He's an excellent big brother, a fantastic son, a lover of Christ with all his heart and soul.  He has a genuine compassionate nature and I am excited to see what God is going to do in his life.  I pray He allows me to live to see it.

Twelve years ago, I greeted this amazing little person and today, I get to celebrate him all over again.  Join me in celebrating my Bug.  As is our custom, we will have a family dinner at the place o his choosing, followed by cake, ice cream, and gifts when we get home.

I'll make sure to give a bit of recap on that later, but for now...happy birthday to my BUG!!!!

Baby A.'s Birthday Party Recap (plus End of Summer Bash!)

So, I’m not sure what I was thinking when I agreed to go with my husband on a couples’ vacation, only to return and host an annual party that would feature our daughter’s first birthday party exactly two days later.

Lesson learned. I don't think I'll try that again. Fortunately, everything seemed to fall into place exactly as it should have...despite being a bit crazy.  Now, let's discuss the party!

Happy Birthday, Baby A.!!!

One year ago today, I was laying on the couch monitoring contractions wondering if today was going to be the day you decided to make your presence on your Earth.  Less than twelve hours later, you confirmed it was.

What's Buzzing With Our Honeybee? The Four Year Old Version

I was looking through the blog the other day and realized that I hadn't provided a proper update for Honeybee after her February birthday.  I found a pretty nice year end kids interview post from Hands On As We Grow and have picked up a few questions from there to assist.

Height:  Our Honeybee is 37.2 inches tall.  She is in the 6th percentile for her age group.  I'm certainly not complaining as the size allows her to continue to wear the smaller size clothes for a while. I'm all about the cost savings there.

Weight:  So, Honeybee actually gained four pounds since her last visit.  BUT she is still only 26.2 pounds and is in the 0 percentile for her weight.  I asked the doctor should we be concerned and was told no.  Some children are naturally petite and it looks like our Bee is in that boat.
