Weekend Recap: Girls' Time

Hi everyone!  This weekend was really awesome as I got to spend time with my baby girls doing girly things.  I love doing this so much and I always love the memories we have when this happens.

Weekend Recap: The Girls' First Salon Visit

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend.  This weekend, I took the girls for their first professional hair appointment.  I was a bit worried because it is COVID season and I've been very careful about letting the girls out.  This is actually only the second or third time that they have been out of the house since March.  So, today was a treat for them--even masked.

I usually do the girls' hair, but I am a bit limited in the styles that I can create for them, especially when it comes to my Honeybee.  So I decided that it was high time for a visit to the beauty salon.  There is one that has been recommended to me over and over again, but they've been closed with COVID.  I saw they recently reopened for hair care and I made an appointment for the girls.  They were awesome!!

Weekend Recap: Time holds for no man.

This has been one of the hardest weekends I've had in a long time.  Last week, I received two notices of people I knew and cares about who had transitioned home.  The thing is they were both young, much too young for me to expect the notice.

Weekend Recap: Meeting Elsa and Performing in Plays

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday!  I woke up this morning with a nasty little cold that I can thank baby J. for so generously sharing with me.  It's a beautiful 60 degrees outside and is supposed to climb to 71.  I, however, am inside shivering and wrapped in a coat and blanket.  -_- I hate being sick. Fortunately, the yuckies didn't make their debut this weekend which was great because it was an awesome weekend!

Weekend Recap: Celebrations and Memories

It’s Monday! Happy Monday everyone. I hope your weekend was really fun and really wonderful. This weekend was filled with love and celebrations and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Weekend Recap: Family Chill

Hi everyone! I hope you've had a fun and productive weekend.  Ours was ridiculously chill.  Not that I have any complaints with that at all.  I'm all for quiet weekends and this one was just that.

Weekend Recap: First 5 of 2020!

Hello and Happy New Year! The break from posting was nice, but I have to admit that I really missed everyone. This past weekend was really an enjoyable one. I even broke my introvert mold and got out of the house (gasp!) Here’s what’s going on with us...

Weekend Recap: Christmas Approaches

Weekend Recap: Top 6

Hi everyone! Here’s hoping you had a wonderful weekend. It was certainly a mixed bag for us. We went from having fun while Christmas shopping to having one very uncomfortable four-month-old who couldn’t sleep. I’m sharing those and a few other things in this Weekend’s Recap.

Weekend Recap: Memories Top 5

Hello! What a fun and awesome weekend spent with people whom I absolutely love. It’s funny how unexpected changes can still be great opportunities for fun. Bug, J., and I were supposed to visit my alma mater to attend the #AggieEagle classic in Greensboro, NC. The rivalry between North Carolina Central University and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is legendary. I was looking forward to taking Bug and having a Mommy-Son weekend with him. Unfortunately a few days before the game, the weather was forecast to be all day rain. This would not be a good thing with a 3 month old baby in tow. So, I made the decision to cancel our plans for the game. It worked out though! We were still able to have an awesome time with family.

Games and Thrones: Weekend Recap

This weekend was such an enjoyable time.  I was able to attend both soccer games for the kids because they were both on the same side of the county!  Yay!  The kids got to see a great show. My mother came down for a brief visit and S. and I were able to attend a costume party.  Let's get you to the update.

A Weekend to 'Remember': Top 5

Hi everyone! I hope you had an amazing weekend! We certainly enjoyed ourselves. The family participated in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s ™ and S. and I got to enjoy our first date night since baby J. was born. We also had a great service at church on Sunday.

Weekend Recap: Let the Season Begin!

What a fun and busy weekend.  This weekend was the start of soccer season and the first weekend of football.  The weather was beautiful and the family enjoyed spending time together--even though we had to separate for a bit.  Here's this weekend's recap!

Weekend Recap: Fantasy Football Potluck

Weekend Recap: Beautiful Weather, Family Time, and the Sickness Persists

Hello everyone!  I hope you had a fantastic weekend.  The weather was just amazing for us this past weekend and after the cold temps that picked at us while visiting the zoo, I was here for it!  Unfortunately, while the weather was beautiful, we were still plagued by persistent sickness. Baby A. has had a fever that keeps returning.  We know from her appointment that it is a virus that must run its course, but...ugh.  Still, there were plenty of highlights and we were able to have some cool family memories together.

Sick and Pregnant

Hello everyone!  I was supposed to have posted my Weekend Recap about our fun zoo trip yesterday, but Sunday night I was hit with a massive stomach virus that had me regurgitating everything in my stomach every 40 minutes like clockwork.  This lasted until yesterday morning about 6:30, but by then I was so weak and tired from using the trash can as my friend that I just lay on the couch trying to see if I was going to brave enough to try and eat.  I wasn't until about 6:30 last evening when the baby in my belly started dictating that I try something.

Weekend Recap: Our Top 5

Friday afternoon, I picked Bug up from school a few minutes before dismissal so that he could get a hair cut.  His hair grows so fast, so he was definitely overdue.  I love out barber.  He's a family friend who has an amazing rapport with kids and adults alike.  The last time he cut Bug's hair, Bug promised him that he'd bring him a baked good that he cooked from the Raddish club.  He bought him a full plate and they were pretty yummy.  Bug walked out with a nice haircut and we enjoyed some Mommy Son time in the car.

My Big Fat Laid Back Weekend Recap

I have often enjoyed reading the blogs of moms and professional bloggers who share what that particular day looks like for them.  This weekend, because it was scheduled to be super cold and murky (alas, it really wasn't), I decided that I'd capture what our weekend looked like.  Again, it was pretty boring thanks to the colder temps outside, but I hope you enjoy the read.

I posted in our Valentine's recap that Bug has been dealing with a nasty case of the flu and has been under strict quarantine.  Prior to his getting sick, Mr. Bug decided to play catch inside the garage (a no-no) and accidentally broke a garage light and disengaged the garage door opener.  👀  He didn't tell us what happened and we found out when we couldn't enter the garage that evening.

You can see the bracket is totally disengaged from the ceiling.
