Weekend Recap: Spa Night

Hi everyone!  Another cool weekend has come and gone and I would not be me if I didn't share at least a bit of it.  So, let's start!  Friday afternoon, S. let me know that he and Superbug would be attending a HS basketball tourney with a good friend and neighbor.  That would mean A., Honeybee, and I would be home by ourselves for a few hours.

I immediately searched my brain for what we could do that would be fun, but not taxing and wouldn't mess up A.'s sleep schedule.  It finally dawned on me that Honeybee asked a while ago for her nails to be painted and some more Mommy time.  I'm a bit extra so I took that a step further and cloned a spa!

I waited for the fellas to leave, fed A., and then made smoked turkey and provolone wraps with chips for us.  Afterwards, I put A. down for the night and got out the foot tub that was such a friend during my pregnancy.  I put a bit of Johnson's lavender nighttime bath in the tub, got Honeybee ready, and turned on the agitator....and promptly realized that the bath acts like a bubble bath when agitated!

Oops, bubbles!!
No worries though.  I turned off the machine and gave Honeybee the pampered princess treatment complete with juice and cookies.  Afterwards, I allowed her to choose her nail color and painted toe and fingernails for her.

When all was fine, she had beautiful purple nails and thought she was the cutest person she knew lol.  She told me over and over again how much fun she was having and that she loved me.  It was an amazing time.

Part of what made it so much so was the fact that I'd prayed for this moment.  I posted on Instagram that evening that I remember praying for a child and God granted it.  My eldest daughter and I were sitting there doing mommy daughter things and the moment was so special.  I am so thankful and humbled in it.

I pray this is a memory that Honeybee has forever.  It was such a blessing to be able to share it with her.

How many of you are up for having at home spa nights with your littles?
