Week 23: 10-17 April 2019

 This week's video:

Hello everyone. This week culminated in the diagnosis of our 19 month old with Influenza A.  Her daycare called us Monday and told us of her 102 degree fever.  I immediately picked her up and made an appointment for yesterday.

How far along: 23 weeks

How big is baby: the size of a carrot

Weight gained:  12 pounds

Gender: Unknown (Team Green)

Events of this week:  Baby A.'s Appointment:  I missed my obstetrics appointment because I thought it was at 1130 instead of 1100 a.m.  I had another appointment scheduled at 1:45 for Baby A. where we found out she was diagnosed with flu.  Our poor baby.  Of course that means I am making sure she is okay, but I am also making sure to keep myself covered.  I definitely need a mask to make sure everything is good to go.

Honeybee's Appointment:  Honeybee had her 5 year old wellness visit and that which allows her kindergarten registration to complete.  Check the video if you haven't.  I'm so excited that she is about to start, but also a bit nervous as I wish she could stay where she is.  The academic and spiritual instruction she is receiving at her school is going to be sorely missed as I have seen how some kids can be towards one another.  Bullying starts younger and younger and I would hate to have Honeybee's first year marred by it. That being said, her brother has already gone through the school she will be attending and it's a pretty good one.  She is excited about no longer wearing a uniform.

Honeybee's Easter Play:  Honeybee's school did a beautiful Easter play.  It was beautiful and I was so happy to see it.

Symptoms:   HUNGRY:  Baby must be having a growth spurt because I am famished...all the time.  Hopefully, I can satisfy this bump.

TIRED:  I feel like I have picked up some of the fatigue issues associated with anemia.  As such I need to have my blood tested.  The fatigue is real.

INCONTINENCE:  It still remains.  If I sneeze, I pee.  If I cough, I pee.

CRAMPING/CONTRACTIONS:  Sunday, I had the worse experience.  I was super lightheaded, woozy, and then had strong cramps with backaches for about an hour and some change after.  It was nothing good nor great.  I rested for a while and felt better afterwards

Baby purchases: My mom is awesome!!!  Because of her, our first baby purchase has been made.  This stroller was on sale via Amazon.  It's a double one and will be needed with baby A. and our new arrival so close together.

Stretch marks: Yep!

Belly Button: In.

Food cravings: EVERYTHING!  I went from feeling very woozy because I wasn't eating enough to suddenly wanting EVERYTHING.  I am so hungry.  It's ridiculous.  So far, I've been able to keep it tame, but man I am suddenly craving Icees.  I can't seem to get enough of them.  And they have to be cherry, no coke, no lemonade.  Only cherry.  Oh my goodness.
Yep, I'm super craving these
Food aversions: Not really

Sleep:I wish I could tell you that I'm sleeping like the proverbial baby, but I am not.  I am starting to snore...really snore.  It's waking me up.  I know I only do this when I'm really tired or pregnant.  As it stands, I'm both because I have been tossing and turning all night long.  I can't seem to get comfortable and baby seems to like moving when everyone likes to sleep

Movement: Yep.  Tons.  I was surprised to find baby is breech this week.  This one has been head down since the beginning, so that's funny.  That explains the weird movements in the lower part of my womb though.

Best Moment of the Week:  The Easter Play

Not so great moment:  Still peeing my pants all the time.

Happy or Moody:  I'm definitely happier this week, but I have to admit the flu diagnosis made me cry.

Looking forward to:  Next week's doctor appointment and having the kids back from Spring Break
